dc.description.abstract This paper looks at the Enduring Powers of Attorney for Personal Care and Welfare sections of the Protection of Personal and Property Rights Act 1988. It examines the factors involved when considering to whether to appoint an EPA, and critically evaluates the legislation in regards to creation of an EPA, activation of an EPA, powers of an EPA and the cessation of an EPA. It includes recommendations to make the legislation more accessible to all and more relevant for the 21st century. en_NZ
